Angela S. Adams, MASCL, CHPC

President and CEO

As a versatile executive, business consultant, and certified high-performance coach, Adams has leveraged a growth mindset while serving in various top roles including chief communications officer, chief diversity officer, and vice president of community relations where she successfully led marketing communications, brand, and culture as an enterprise-level executive. She is known for creating impact across complexly structured organizations effectively building and reshaping capabilities to ensure they thrive in dynamic environments. From strategic planning to operational execution, Adams champions performance, adaptability, innovation, and resilience.

Adams has extensive board governance experience, currently serving on the Board of Regents for the Universities of Wisconsin, The Legacy Foundation Advisory Board, The Friends of Plum Board, and The Milwaukee (WI) Chapter of The Links, Inc. Previous board appointments include Froedtert Hospital, African American Leadership Alliance Milwaukee (AALAM) Board Chair Emeritus, Sherman Phoenix Foundation, and Professional Dimensions Board Chair Emeritus.

Adams obtained her bachelor’s degree in business administration from Florida A&M University and earned her master’s in strategic communication and leadership from Seton Hall University.

Margaret Arney

AALAM Consultant

For 15 years, Margaret led the AALAM African American Leadership Program (AALP) with its founder, Dr. Jeanette Mitchell and a talented team. She has worked for more than 30 years in the non-profit sector as a program developer, fundraiser and teacher. In November 2024, Margaret, AALP Cohort 3 Alumni, was elected to represent Wisconsin’s 18th Assembly District. She is an active community leader in Wauwatosa, WI continuing to serve as District 2 Alderperson (2022-2026).

Margaret taught as an adjunct professor in the Department of Social Work at Concordia University Wisconsin. At the Women’s Fund of Greater Milwaukee, she helped to expand philanthropy among women of color and shape a social change agenda. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from Harvard University, Master of Social Service Administration from the University of Chicago, and a Certificate in Applied Gerontology from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Her passions include positive social change, leader development in communities of color, and service to the elderly. She is the proud mother of a college-age daughter and lives in Wauwatosa, WI with her husband.

Mona Fowler

AALP Cohort 15 Program Manager

Mona Fowler is currently the owner and operator of Fowler Intentional Growth Resources LLC (FIG Resources LLC). FIG Resources LLC offers public speaking, training facilitation, development programming consulting as well as leadership and career support via assessments and coaching. Formerly the executive development director for Molson Coors Beverage Company, Americas.

Mona possesses over 25 years of experience leading, supporting and/or coaching supply chain, HR, IT, and sales teams, including C-suite leaders, during her tenure working for Corning Inc., Unilever HPC, and Molson Coors. Her experience includes fostering engagement and performance by leading the design and implementation of diversity, equity and inclusion and development strategies. A sought-after training facilitator, mentor, and coach, she has experience managing million-dollar budgets.

Mona prides herself as a lifelong learner. She received a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University and holds several certifications including SHRM-SCP, Hogan, Emergenetics Advisor and Nutrition Counseling. She is currently working on achieving an ICF Coaching Certification. Mona grew up in East Point, Georgia. She enjoys reading, cooking, and dancing. Most of all, she loves spending time with family and close friends.

Abia Harper

Executive Assistant

Abia Harper is a young professional born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She studied marketing and sociology in San Francisco before making her way back to Milwaukee to study at Marquette University.

With Abia’s previous experience at America’s Black Holocaust Museum as the executive assistant to the chief executive officer and chief operating officer and the event coordinator, she brings her unique perspective and skill into AALAM’s growing organization. She enjoys being a part of rapidly changing non-profit organizations and finds joy in being a part of AALAM’s founding team as they work to expand and curate professional African American leaders in the city of Milwaukee.

Michael Morgan

Chairperson of the Board

Michael L. Morgan is currently a management consultant in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He is the former University of Wisconsin System (UW), Senior Vice President for Administration and Fiscal Affairs. Prior to his work at UW, Mr. Morgan served in the Cabinet of Wisconsin for Governor Jim Doyle. First as the Governor’s principal advisor on tax policy, as Secretary of Revenue, and later as Secretary of the Department of Administration. Additionally, he served as the Assistant Milwaukee County District Attorney, Commissioner of the Milwaukee Department of City Development, and Program Related Investment Officer for the Helen Bader Foundation.

Mr. Morgan earned a Bachelor of Arts-Communication Arts and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

He is a member of the Aurora Health Care Community Board, National W Club Board, Wisconsin Community Services Board, and Big Ten Conference Advisory Commission.

Mr. Morgan is a former Wisconsin Badgers running back and member of the 1978 Chicago Bears.

Kathryn Dunn

Board Member

Kathryn J. Dunn, vice president, programs and operations, at Wisconsin Women’s Business Initiative Corporation (WWBIC) has over 30 years serving in the philanthropic sector. Prior to WWBIC, Kathryn was responsible for the strategic direction, development, and management of grantmaking, scholarships, leadership initiatives and evaluation of grant outcomes and impact at the Greater Milwaukee Foundation. Through April 2011, she specialized in community and economic development and workforce issues at the Helen Bader Foundation, as the community investment officer. Kathryn began her career in Milwaukee as vice president at WWBIC. 

She is a certified Economic Development Finance Professional by the National Development Council and holds a master’s in business administration and a bachelor’s in journalism, both from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

Dr. Synthia LaGrant

Board Secretary

Dr. Syneathia LaGrant is a distinguished expert in human resources, adult learning, talent management, and leadership development, with over 20 years of experience. She has excelled in managing global teams and developing innovative programs for multinational organizations such as MolsonCoors Beverage Company, Fiserv Inc., and Johnson Controls, Inc. At ManpowerGroup, Dr. LaGrant spearheaded the talent and development function driving enterprise-wide capability building, leadership development, succession planning, culture, and diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging strategies across various brands and regions. Currently, Dr. LaGrant serves as a trusted HR advisor and partner to the executives, along with their respective teams. Her strategic insights and guidance have been pivotal in shaping the HR landscape. 

Dr. LaGrant’s holds a Bachelor of Arts from Bradley University, a Master’s in Adult Education from Alverno College, and is a proud member of the Vanguard Society. She earned her doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania, where her dissertation, titled “Beyond Belonging: Identifying Critical and Conflicting Factors in Women’s Career Progressions,” explored the profound impact of a sense of belonging on women’s success trajectories in large organizations. 

A dedicated community leader, Dr. LaGrant serves on the boards of the Marcus Center for Performing Arts, Alverno College Board of Trustees, the African American Leadership Alliance of Milwaukee, and All-in Milwaukee,
contributing her expertise and passion to these esteemed organizations.

Dr. LaGrant is married to Robert and is the proud mother of Brendan and Marcus, balancing her
professional achievements with her commitment to family.
 

Kyle Lindberg

Board Treasurer

Kyle Lindberg, vice president, logistics and customer care, of Rockwell Automation, has over 15 years of experience with both small and large companies in various roles. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Marketing and Human Resources from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Kyle also has an Master of Business Administration from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Terrence Moore, Sr.

Board Member

Terrence Moore, Sr. is an innovative, faith-based leader serving communities locally and globally for over two decades. He is currently the neighborhood business development specialist for the City of Milwaukee’s Department of City Development Commercial Corridor Team. Previously, Terrence worked as a business development specialist for the Hmong Wisconsin Chamber of Commerce. As a member of the International Consortium of Real Estate Associations, he earned his Transnational Referral Certification through the International Real Estate Federation (FIACI-USA), connecting him to global real estate and business opportunities.

Terrence and his wife have been entrepreneurs in the faith-based realm, founding and leading a church for over 14 years. Now, they have expanded their reach through The Moore Blueprint where Terrence serves as partner and principal, helping entrepreneurs, startups, business leaders, creatives, and industry experts envision and reshape their businesses for growth and expansion. His expertise spans leadership development, financial structuring, program design and implementation, project management, adult education, and middle and high school math instruction.

Terrence holds an Associate of Science in Applied Psychology from Trident Technical College, certification in Chinese Business Culture from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee, and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee. His international work includes teaching entrepreneurship and import/export business in Africa and the Caribbean.
