It is with deep sadness that we acknowledge the passing of Dr. Jeanette Mitchell, the beloved founder of the African American Leadership Alliance Milwaukee (AALAM). We extend our heartfelt condolences to her family and friends who have asked for privacy at this difficult time.

Dr. Mitchell was an inspirational leader whose passion and dedication transformed countless lives across many communities. Her bold vision and unwavering commitment to developing strong leaders across the region who could, and would, do the work to change the trajectory of Milwaukee reverberates as her charge to the AALAM community and beyond.

Dr. Mitchell’s life and legacy lives within all of us who knew her as a champion, mentor, teacher, and friend. As we grieve this incredible loss, we continue to celebrate her remarkable life of service.
